Today, we take it for granted that women should have the same rights as men, including the right to vote in political elections. But not so long ago, things were very different ... The fight to gain voting rights for women in Britain and around the world, was a long, and often painful struggle involving many passionate and dedicated people, some of whom would do whatever it took to get their message heard, even in the face of extreme opposition.

The 'Suffragettes' were a particularly fearless group who often took direct and dangerous action to further the cause of votes for women. This is the story of their fight.
